Broken wire in remote lock harness

Post by vothger »

My remote lock and unlock for the truck and saddlebags was not working. I checked it out and found a broken wire in the harness by the trunk hinges. I seem to recall reading about rerouting the harness to prevent this from reoccurring but can not find this info. Has any body relocated the controll unit to another location other than the trunk lid to eliminate the wire bending ever time the trunk is opened?

Just move the wires behind the backrest and seat bolster.

Sorry ... I didn't reply because you were asking for a repair other then what I would recommend. Basically your harness needs replaced, and it should be routed as the original one. If it is still available, it is part #9.
