Re: Headlight interchange
Headlight bulbs or headlight assemblies?
I know the bulbs will interchange but I donot know if the headlight assemblies are interchangeable. Good question though.
Looking at the two diagrams in parts diagram online makes it appear that they are slightly different.

Re: Headlight interchange
Sorry , I should have been more specific. The entire headlight assembly. I’m getting a 2003 and want to black out the excess chrome inside the headlight assembly. I’ve seen where glued together automobile light assemblies can be heated and pulled apart then the guts painted black, (but not the reflector part of course), then reassembled. I don’t know if the 2003 assembly is laser welded or glued. If the whole assembly can be switched it would be a lot more expensive but a lot quicker. Going for an F6B look, but I’m too cheap to actually GET an F6B. Now loosing the trunk is a WHOLE different project.

Yes you can heat the headlight to soften the glue.Scwten13 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:57 am Sorry , I should have been more specific. The entire headlight assembly. Re: Headlight interchange
That’s the info I needed for the temperature and time in the oven and how to reseal them after, thanks for the link. As far as my original question; a bit more research uncovered the fact that 2001 to 2017 are all the same shape and mounting tabs, just chrome or blacked out guts being the difference. I found a set of reasonably priced F6B assemblies so I’m going to buy those and sell my original ones, they are in excellent shape. Probably break even at least if not make a little. Thanks again for the responses.
