Hello Golwing guys. Current ride is an old 83 Yamaha Venture, hope to change that to Goldwing very soon. I like the bagger style F6B, but like the extra bling of the full dresser, except for the trunk. I know, but has anyone found or made a way to remove the trunk and make the 1800 a bagger style? Thanks for your advise and wisdom.

Re: Newbie, Remove trunk question
At one time there was a kit to do exactly that, however as it was not overly popular, it was discontinued. It was made by one of the aftermarketers like Add On or Show Chrome. Other Goldwing owners who were mechanically able and had the facilities to do so have also removed the trunks from some of their bikes. So - yes it can be done (with the GL1800) but it ain't easy. A long and continual search on places such as EBay could possibly turn up one of the kits, but finding a new one is a near impossibility. Good luck with your search.

I believe it was MBL innovations that made the kit for the 01 through 17s. But its not listed on their site anymore. You could put some feelers out on the GL1800 forums to see if maybe someone has one in their garage or whatever that would want to part with it.

Honda makes a kit fot this for the 2018 GL1800, with a separate kit for a color coordinated cover to hide the wiring.

I don't know if this could be adjusted to work with the previous models or not.

I have reached out to them a couple months ago. They claim they will re-make them stating in late spring. I was wondering if there are other options?Ghostman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 10:03 am I believe it was MBL innovations that made the kit for the 01 through 17s. Curious if it would still work for maybe a 2013ish 1800?Viking wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 12:17 pm Honda makes a kit fot this for the 2018 GL1800, with a separate kit for a color coordinated cover to hide the wiring.

No, it won't work. The 2018+ is totally different. Why not an F6B Deluxe?
