Oil leak from?
Giving the scoot a wash this morning and detected an oil leak. I can't be sure where it is coming from though Does this look like anything any of you have seen? looks like it might be coming from the alternator front seal, but not sure.

Re: Oil leak from?
yup,
not uncommon.
the alternator seals can/will leak when they get old.
I bought a new OEM alternator "just in case" and put it in my 2002 when it had 98,000 miles on it.
the front of the alternator was damp with oil, not enough to run outside of the case, but it was failing.

Looks like the seal is leaking. I would get a new oring seal and depending on age I might replace or definitely clean the brushes and bearings.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.
