Repairing the 01-17 LCD Screen, bad pixels, etc.

Randy Wharton has just posted up a PDF to show how to install an OEM backlight on a replacement screen. When you remove the OEM screen, do not throw it away, you need it to get the OEM backlight, to install on the new LCD screen.

This is necessary because the CCFL lighting is not good enough for daylight viewing on our bikes with the replacement LCD screens from Ali-Express.....

this project costs anywhere from $90 to $160 depending on your skills at locating the screens.

this link is the PDF. ... st-5931271

This link is the start of the thread that caused the PDF to be written up in the 1st place. ... st-5929931

Sorry about Post Crossing, but this forum, and the GoldwingFacts forums are all about helping owners.

this is Randy's avatar, and explains his background.

Excellent, there is a fellow rider over on GL1800Riders having issues with his replacement screen, maybe this will be of help to him, I just posted the PDF on his thread.
