Valve adjustment
have a 2001 gl1800 ABS and am wondering if these are the recommended shims. It has almost 100,000 Kms and no previous valve adjustment.
I don’t mind dying on a motorcycle, I just don’t want it to happen tomorrow. 🏍

Re: Valve adjustment
They appear to be correct. 7.48 mm OD and .05 mm increments in thickness.

Re: Valve adjustment
I have never used that brand so I would have no business recommending or not.
I used the Hot Cams shims and I would recommend them. That said, I see no reason to beleive that the AHL brand would not work for you.
I had the Hot Cams set on hand before I did the valve lash inspection. I did not want to have an engine opened up and then discover that replacement shims were needed. I've done the valve lash check three times on GL1800's. The first time I did the check, I did not need any shims replaced. The second and third check shims were needed and I had them on hand.

Re: Valve adjustment
Thanks, do you think this kit offers a good cross-section of sizes?
