Hello all,
I have a 2003 GL1800 (non-abs) with only 5000 miles. I'm the 2nd owner, first owner only put 2000 miles on it in 16 years. The bike had zero issues until my recent trip to Phoenix last week. When I push the REVERSE button, the yellow F1 light illuminates instead of the reverse light. The reverse gear still works, but it seems less powerful than before. When I push the REVERSE button to off, the F1 light goes out and the green neutral light comes on as it should. Any ideas on where I should start looking? Thanks in advance.
Your best option, I think, would be to contact Techdude2000 (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=34629).
I am certain he can help you with diagnosing your problem. Send him a private message.

Sorry, I was on vacation last week and couldn’t find an answer for this. Still digging through the possibilities, but this is the first time I’ve heard of this particular failure. First thing to do is to short the pins in the service connector for the ECM and see what codes it has stored. The connector is orange and located near the relay bank under the seat.

I'd start by disconnecting all aftermarket electrical accessories and retest. To me it sounds like someone has tapped into a wire they shouldn't have.
This is an excellent idea if there’s anything non factory on it.
