Replacement 35200-MCA-A73 switch or repair?

Post by RoysWing »

Morning y'all! I either need to replace the left handlebar switch assembly or attempt to repair it. My 2008s turn signals have gone bad. Any interstate rides will kick it on automatically due to vibration. and I have to constantly turn them off.

The part #35200-MCA-A73 gives me the best price from revzilla for $359... ouch.

Does anyone know of a cheaper place to look at? Ebay has the same price.
Or does anyone have a recommendation to repair? It definitely feels like the spring broke or came off because its VERY loose.
I also have no idea on how to take it apart.

Thanks in advance!

Those handle bar controls are not cheap units to replace. Did you try ebay? I had to replace the signal side on my 1500, but it wasn't $350!! Then you need to install it, I opted to have it done at a shop, sadly that was 2hrs labor, the wires are fairly well buried in the top end of the motorcycle. Good luck!

The switch can be cleaned. I have done it many times. One of the hazards of living 10Km from the pavement. A very light touch of emery cloth cleans the contacts like new. Do be careful though as there are no parts available for the switch assemble. If you loose a spring or a ball you are kinda done.

Dillusionalm, yes you can clean the switches, but Royswing believes the spring is broken. That was my switches problem, tiny little spring WAS broken. We confirmed that after we replaced the control switch on my 1500
