Lost all lights
Hi guys. I am trying to help out a friend. Today he lost his dash lights and turn signals. When he replaced the fuse 3rd yellow on down on the left side of the fuse panel it immediately blew and he lost tail lights and acc lights. Any ideas where to start looking for this dead short. He had the left grip replaced at a shop not long ago.
Any help would be great
Thanks

Re: Lost all lights
First place to look is any aftermarket lights or other electrical doo dads that have been added.
Honda did a pretty good job with the wiring, the same can rarely be said about DIY additions.

Re: Lost all lights
Ok the bike is an 06 Glowing with the comfort package Nav. and Abs. He does have extra lights over the valve covers and an emblem on the front fender which may light up. If the fender emblem lights up that would be a good place to start as I know he had recent tire work.
I will be out of WIFI range for a few daze so it may be a while before I can check any input
Thanks Frank

Re: Lost all lights
Well, the dash is powered by the tail light relay and fuse and the turn signals are powered by the horn/turn relay and fuse. I think he needs to investigate the added lights to see if connections are still good. Any trailer wiring would be suspect as well.Pam wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 8:59 am Ok the bike is an 06 Glowing with the comfort package Nav. and Abs. Ok back in the land of wifi. Buddy got a shop to look at it and when he took it to the shop all the lights came to life. The shop found no issues. I think he is going to chase issue for a long time. Thanks for the input
Re: Lost all lights
I would look at where either the shop removed plastic or body panels,or if he had done any work on the bike. Look for pinched wires or if aftermarket was put on if something was possibly routed wrong. But I would take an afternoon and make sure everything is as it should be.

Just finished a 600 mile ride with him. No issues. I think he is not done with this yet. Just hasn't hit the right bump yet
