2002 pannier lights

Post by Wingitgary »

Hi all, I’m Gary, just joined up, from uk, I own a 2002 wing (12months now). My bike is Eu speck but made in USA, on the panniers only the indicators work, the running and stop lights are not wired up, no bulb housing even, so I’m wondering how to install these lights, with no wiring to the lenses I’m at a total loss…can I use double filament bulbs, and where do I wire it to? Thanks Gary.

Welcome to the forum.

I think we have discussed this on this forum before. I'd check the search function above.

You can drill out the light fixtures for the bulb sockets. IIRC, the shape is all correct, just a matter of opening the hole. Alternatively, you can buy new light housings. There are even some aftermarket ones with built in LED boards. My choice would be to look for some original Honda lights.

As far as the harness, probably easiest just to build your own, You can access the brake/tail wires either at the lights in the trunk or under the seat where the harness feeds the back end. You could use a trailer type harness. That will give you brake/tail/ground feed for your new lights.

Thanks Andy, it’s got original housing, I favour access thru top box ((trunk) I’ll let you know how I do.
