f-1 light

Post by dshepard »

I have a 2004 1800 wing with a F-1 light problem Comes on every time I ride. Code 26, always the same, this code indicates left knock sensor which I have replace with a new one, and no help there. Maybe I replaced the wrong one? The service book says left knock sensor, is this with me sitting on the bike or standing in front of it. So, I would be grateful for any help with this problem.

Sitting on bike..

After replacing the sensor and clearing the code. Did the FI
light instantly come on or a little while later?

Quite a few people have had that issue. The test is to swap the left and right sensors and see if the code moves. If it doesn't you have an ECM fault.

BTW F1 is a class of racing, FI is Fault Indicator.

The Service Manual should really say "left knock sensor circuit. The circuit consists of 3 parts, the sensor, the ECM, and related wiring (wire harness).

Does your Wing want to die at stops ??? Do you have any poor running conditions ???
