Floorboard hex bolt size
Earlier this year my wife kicked off one of the rubber pads on one of the floorboards on Mt. Evans in Colorado. I finally got those Kuryakyn transformer boards and had hoped to change them out today, but that is one big honking hex bolt holding those things on. Anyone know what size it is? I do not have one that big and will have to get one. If need be I can ride to the hardware store and see if they'll let me take a couple outside to see which one fits, but I thought it would be easier if one of ya'll knew then I could just buy the right size without tipping off my wife. I was going to install them for her birthday today.

Re: Floorboard hex bolt size
After worrying about this for a bit I remembered I have a micrometer that can also measure inside diameter. I wasn't sure if this would work for hex heads or not. Don't ask.
So, I measured one I knew I had a bit for and it does. Then I measured the bolt head in question and came up with 8mm. Then I remembered I had purchased a set of bits before our last trip and checked it to find the largest one in the set was 8mm.
Yay! Now if I can just get them changed without her seeing and then get her out for a ride this afternoon.
