nose cone removal

Post by Arthur Bell »

Hi guys. I have searched for information. It's probably on here somewhere, but with the mountain of information, I can't find it.
I need to replace one of the small bulbs in the bottom of the headlight cluster.
If I remove the nose cone I could access them.
I have removed the 2 lower screws, but there seems to be something else holding it in place & I don't want to force anything & break it.
2003.
Any help appreciated.

A picture would be most helpful. I do not know what bulb it is you're talking about.

Ok. Thank you.
It's 8.30 in the evening here (Ireland). I'll take a pic or 2 & post in the morning.

Your bike is most likely a European spec machine. There may be a bulb in it that we do not have in the United States spec machine. If that is the case I wouldn't know how to access that book.

Yes, most likely a European spec. But it's just information on how remove the nose cone I need so I can access the bulbs.
There are a number of photos on American forums of American spec trikes/bikes that have the same nose cone. If I can copy one, I'll post it

By nose cone, I think you mean the part below the screen garnish.

I think you mean this part, the cowl:

If that is the case, the screen garnish has to be removed and then you will the cowl. There is one screw on the top and two screws on the bottom I believe.

It is the cowl. This is referred to as the nose cone on the fairing removal post.
If I have to remove the top part (nose cone) to get at one bolt to access a small bulb, it's a bit of a faff.

Many thanks for your help
