I have a 2005 honda goldwing
when I turn on the ignition switch the screen goes blank and there is a clicking sound coming from the battery area .the battery is in good shape and fully charged .could there be a faulty relay ?

Sounds like a classic bad connection. Start with the battery and ground cables and work from there. A voltmeter is your friend.

It sure sounds like the battery is dead. How do you know the battery is in good shape?

If you put a voltmeter on the battery terminals, and measure the voltage when you turn on the ignition, what does it say?

So before this when your battery was "better" did you notice when started the gauges would momentarily dip down then recover? That for me is a sign the battery is beginning to take a hike.
