Right radiator fan motor replacement
I need to replace my right radiator fan motor on my 2005 GL1800A. Is there a quicker way to do it than how the shop manual describes it? Has anybody done it before? Thanks

Re: Right radiator fan motor replacement
I do not know what the service manual says but I am pretty sure there is no easy way.
The fairing has to come off and I believe the radiator needs to come out.
I've replaced the left radiator and fan in the past after an accident on a 2003. The fairing was off at the time because it was pretty much destroyed.
I wish I could say there was a quick and easy way but I can't.

Re: Right radiator fan motor replacement
The fairing has to come off, the fan assembly can be removed without disturbing the radiator.
I reversed the fan blades, the motor rotation, and added a manual fan switch.

If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.

Re: Right radiator fan motor replacement
Just completed the job following the manual. It is long, but not difficult. Just need to keep all the nuts/bolts organized. Was very happy when my dead right radiator fan started working again.MikeB wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 7:28 pm I do not know what the service manual says but I am pretty sure there is no easy way.
