wiring help please

Post by collinsa »

Refurbishing a 2007 GL1800a for a friend and forgot to tag two plugs and sockets - both identical two pin
I forgot to tag the plugs and sockets as I normally do
These are located just inside the right hand pocket adjacent to the radiator cap

Problem is the wires into the sockets are all black and no indication of what they may feed
Without removing the front fairing I cannot trace them
Sockets are tagged 71X and 725 but I cannot find a reference in the manual or writing diagram

Plugs have colour coded wires
one plug has White / green stripe wire + Yell / green stripe wire
second plug has Yell / green stripe wire & yellow Red stripe wire

Yell / red wire goes to ignition switch

Any body with a 2007 that could help - I would be grateful

I think those are the left and right grip heater plugs.

That makes sense because they are both identical and the wires are the same size as the hand grip wiring for the hand grips

The bike starts and runs regardless of which plug I put in which socket

Very grateful for your help

The connectors for the heated grips will look the same, and either grip can be plugged into either connector.
