2002 gl1800 w no rear speakers

Post by Piddler »

Just got this bike and there are no speakers in the rear speaker boxes. No wiring either. Is it a big job to remedy this and is it worth it? The stereo sounds great from the front seat now. I also would like the hardwired helmet comms gear. Are those available so my rider and I can talk? My stereo also has a CD button, is there a CD that can be incorporated into it? Last but not least, my front pegs are the only thing on this bike that looks worn down so I'm looking for replacements. Suggestions?

I installed these into my 2002 a few years ago. Just follow the instructions.

There are probably more GoldWings in California than any other state.

2001-05 did not came with front speakers only. Honda originaly made over 50 Hondaline accessories for your Wing, and one of them was a rear speaker kit. However, those have probably long been sold out, and Honda would have quit making them long ago. However, J&M makes a rear speaker kit that comes with a plug-n-play harness. They also make headset kits for helmates. As for your CD, the CD changer was one of those Hondaline accessories. However, about the time 5th gen Wings came out, so did MP3 players, and most oppted for that choice. Your Wing would have come with an audio cord in your LF pocket. The cord is intended for a MP3 player. Now a-days, most use the MP3 player that comes with all smart phones. Once you get helmet sets for your helmate, and when your helmats are plugged in, you will then have control over your on-board coms system. As for your foot pegs, you're probably talking about the rubbers being worn. Part #9 in the fishe below.
