Power down issues

Post by 2014 F6B »

I have 2014 F6B Goldwing and I have had the following happen a few times and not sure where to start as far as T/S. Shutting the bike down and turn the key off, I get the shut down screen as normal , the panel blanks out but then the odometer, tripometer numbers show back up and my neutral light will turn on ( no radio info is displayed ). Also the front and rear lights (all) will turn on and stay on. I can then turn the key back on. Dash display comes up as normal but the engine will crank via the starter button but the engine will not start. It will stay in this state until I turn the key off and everything powers down completely and the dash display stays blank and the front and rear lights turn off. Once it powers down completely, I can then turn the key back on and the engine will start. I am assuming it is a ecm or controller issue but, I am not familiar the the Goldwing electrical systems and or testing. An ideas or starting point advice??

Your describing unusual feedback.

Try sending Techdude2000 a PM. He'll probably help you with your issue.

Any aftermarket electical accessories ... if so, disconnect/disable all those first !!!

Only after market item installed is a thumb drive in the factory USB port for music files. Otherwise the scoot is bone stock. As far as a PM to Techdude2000, not sure how to go about doing this.

I'd disconnet your USB drive. Those are known to go bad and cause the battery to go dead.

As for PMg Techdude2000
- scroll all the way to the top
- the 1st gray bar on the right side, next to where you would log out, is a link to send a PM

If you don't hear anything from him in a couple of days, let me know and I'll send him an email.
