2001 gl1800 left heated grip

Post by lewhelm »

I have a defective left heated grip....I can't find them online anywhere ...does anyone know if a 2006 or later left heated grip will work if the wire is modified to plug in to the 2001 gl1800...

If you have the Hondaline heated grips, they've not been available for years. Usually the switch is what fails.

As for weather a 2006+ grip will work, sorry I have no idea.

If needed, there are other heated grip kits available. I believe Show Chome and Electrical Connection makes one, or used too.

Another possible option is adapting a F6b Hondaline heated grip kit to your Wing. I've not known anyone to have done it, and have no information on any individual part numbers in the kit itself. However, the kit may or may not still be available. Below is a link to my web page with the instruction set and a part number at the top.
