SoCal Moto Driving Lights

Post by erkmann »

Getting ready to mount SoCal Moto Driving Lights (Elec.Connxn on terminal backorder), but two versions available. 8+ y.o. version GL18FG has a crossbar on the lens but mounts similarly to their newer FGPDLK w/o a crossbar. Older version now $240ish, newer $290ish. SoCal Moto's response on comparison was "...one has the crossbar, the other doesn't, they both give good light". Oh, thanks for that. Does anyone have experience with either/both? Couldn't find anything on a search. 2009 GL1800.

Whenever available, I order in OEM accessories. Yes they cost far more, but they're designed and engineered by Honda engineers for the application at hand, and absolutly come with Honda quality. The aftermarket ones are often made of common parts with a bracket change to make them work on other m/c's.

The LED Hondaline part number for a non-airbagger is 08V70-MCA-S41. I beleive the Hondaline ones are still available.

The GL18FG brackets looks right. There is a left and a right. They have different bends in them with different size screws in the OEM.

I can't see the brackets for the FGPDLK but they should good to go.

Aren't there reviews on SoCals website? Got the lowers myself a few years back. They mounted up perfectly with the factory
mounting spots. LED super bright. Love em!!
