CB is 'locked up' after new installation

Post by erkmann »

I just finished installing the Honda OEM CB on my 2009 GL1800. CB is locked in this configuration: Channel 1, unsquelched, full volume, does not respond to handlebar controls (can't change channel/adjust volume or squelch). If I turn it off, AM/FM works fine. Thoughts? Can I expect any help from dealer?

I answered my own question, but thanks for reading...as in so many things in Goldwing electronics, the answer was TUNER CLEANER!! Bike was ridden for thirteen years w/o need to activate CB volume/squelch/channel buttons, so a little cleaner in there and exercising the buttons did the job.

Glad you got it figured out.

I did not know you got an 1800. I went and found your post where you said you had wrecked the 1500.
Sorry to hear that. I too just moved up to an 1800 from the 1500 and am having to learn it all over again.
I do miss the 1500 sometimes, but the 1800 sure is nice as well.
