All Balls steering bearings

Post by anschmidt »

Ok, I'm about to cause a ruckus I'm thinking, but would appreciate all sides to offer their opinion.
I have an '08 with 82,000 miles on it. There are no steering, wobble, or jarring issues currently with the bike that I've noticed. Have been reading recently about the all balls from wing stuff, and am wondering if it would be a good idea to preemptively replace the steering head bearings, as a precaution. I've already changed the suspension springs to a progressive spring, but that's all the modification I've done so far to the front suspension.

My wing did have the wobble and resulting crummy fr tire wear. I did the all balls replacement and it fixed the problem. No issues with the front end for over a 100000 miles now.

But if your wing aint broke yet dont fix it yet. :D

Many say they have no wobble, but don't know how to test for it.

Here, on a flat road and in 5th gear, at 50mph we let go of the handle bars. That then means that the bike is decelerating. Allow it to decelerate down to about 38mph. Any wobble ???
