Has any of you ever changed your starter, if so how do you get access to the lower bolt?

You need to remove the reverse actuator mechanism.
Easy to dismantle, a bit frustrating re-installing it.

Good luck

It easy to mix up the lower starter bolt and the output shaft's seal cover bolt. Be sure not to do that.

It's been a long time since I've personally remove the lower bolt, and cannot really remember how I did it. However, I'm sure I would have unbolted the rear brake m/c for a little more access. If that does not help, no foul, since it only takes a second to remount it. The trick to lining up the m/c bolts is to lightly push down on the brake lever.
