Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Post by bobsteinberg »

Hi. The TPMS light on my 2013 GL1800 keeps going on even though the tire pressures test out ok. Someone suggested that it might be because the sensor(s) battery is/are low. Is there a way to replace the batteries on those?

Yep. That's likely it.

The batteries are soldered in and Honda only sells the complete unit. There are instructions/videos on DIY replacement. IIRC, Fred Harmon (who does the maintenance videos) will replace the batteries if you mail the sensors to him.

Or simply cover the warning light with tape.

The best way to deal add l with this problem is to install a jumper wire on the tpm unit to force the light off. This is what most trike conversion do. :)
