Back on a Wing, a 2004

Post by Uncle Fester »

After a few years in h#ll I am off the Harley Ultra and back on a Wing. I am on a black 2004 this time and absolutely LOVE it, makes me wonder why I ever left…
I am sure I will have questions, so I will be around a lot more, and I look forward to enjoying the ride and learning about my new bike.

Thanks, I am really enjoying this bike. I took her to get new tires at Shawnee Honda and they checked and it turns out the brake recall had not been done, so I got that done too, next will be a oil change as the P.O. could not recall when it was last performed beyond “sometime in May or June of 2023…” so yeah, time for some fresh Mobil1 and a good filter!

Was 2004 part of the frame recall?
I am guessing they checked that (if applies) since they checked the brake recall.

Good idea. Immediately after I bought mine I changed all fluids, replaced all brake pads, did a close inspection of the tires (fortunately, they were brand new Elite 4s), flushed the cooling system, and finished it all off with a deep cleaning and waxing! I'm getting two new helmets for my bride and I (with Bluetooth) since ours are probably close to ten years old. There is nothing technically "wrong" with our old helmets aside from their age, but my wife would like to have new ones that allow us to communicate while riding.

Next spring I'm hoping to bring the Wing to see Max at Traxxion Dynamics for the "full monty" suspension upgrade. He's just down the road a bit from me.
