Headlights
I have a friend and she rides a 2008 Goldwing. She currently is having an issue with her headlights? When starts her bike the light do not come on, if she puts the bike into reverse the headlights come on. What could the problem be and how can it be fixed?

Re: Headlights
Check the start button. They often need cleaning.

Re: Headlights
Put the bike in Reverse.
Now, press in the Reverse button with your fingernail, and then let the button "snap" back out.
Do that a couple times and the headlights will probably come back on.
Use a plastic safe electrical contact cleaner for a little more permanent fix, but the real answer is to get that button out of there and disassemble it inside a large clear plastic bag that will catch the springs, then take the old hardened grease out and replace it with new.

Re: Headlights
I would start here. This is the most common problem.

My 2007 required yearly cleaning of the start switch contacts until I fixed it. In the same bank as the low beam headlight relay (if I remember correctly) is the head light adjust relay which is driven off of oil presser. I rewired the trigger so when the bike has oil presser the low beams are on. I left the high beam original.
My 2017 began to give trouble in its second year. I mentioned it to the dealer who told me "If we can't replicate the problem there is nothing we can do. "I replied " No problem, I will fix it myself." The dealer said "Don't do that it will void your warranty!" I said "It doesn't look like I much warranty to void."
The 2017 dose not have a relay driven off of oil PSI so I ran a wire from the sender to the relay bank and fed the low beam relay from a IRF540 mosfet . I left high beam original. 7 years an 120000Km later and it hasn't missed a beat. I like this much better than having all headlights go out when driving home on a dark night.
