problem with headlight & fog light

Post by wiredgeorge »

First, headlight works correctly on hi-beam. When switching to low-beam, the single headlight doesn't come on. Next, for the life of me, can't recall how to turn on the fog lights. I believe these are OEM and know they don't work on hi-beam. Is there a link between lo-beam and fog lights not working? Any tips? 2006 GL1800 base model/Roadsmith trike

Probably not the answer you are looking for

Go to top of page Gl1800 Information & Questions
Type in search box next to yellow box
Headlight not working
There are 40 plus posts there maybe one of them has had the same or similar situation
Maybe reading them will give you some ideas or things to check until someone comes on here with the answer you need

On the 012 I had, the driving lights had their own push button switch
Best of luck

Both low beam bulbs burned. Got some new H7 halogens and am having a heck of a time getting the spring clips in place. I have big hands and forearms and it is difficult to get in there. I also have not had any luck from below. Any tips?

I surprised myself and a friend that owns an 1800 as I took my rolling shop stool
Put it beside the front wheel, sat on the stool
Reached up with my right hand as I am right handed
And got both low beams replaced in no time. We didn't time it but it seemed too simple. We were both shocked

I guess sitting on the stool and NOT trying to balance myself made it so I could considerate

I did watch a couple videos regarding replacement of the bulbs and the spring clips so I would know what my hand was touching as seeing and doing is impossible. I have done a couple more for other friends since, as I bragged how easy it is to do.

I cannot do this job from the top
Hope this helps Best of luck

It's so simple a five year old can do it. So now you just need to find a five year old.

The dummy figured out why the dummy couldn't get the spring clip to latch over the bulb adapter body.... it was bent with ham fisted pulled the spring clip out. All is well. And BTW: don't have fog lights installed on this Wing; the dummy has had quite a few Wings in the past where fog lights were installed. Geesh, its hard to be humble but a bumble will doer! thanks ya'll!!!
