Re: Help
Just to make sure we're talking about the same plugs, sometimes they are hard to find. Are these them.

Re: Help
Sorry ... I'm trying to understand what your saying or asking. I beleive you're trying to hook up a bluetooth addapter to an 2007 Wing ... is that correct ??? The bluetooth accessory has 3 wires with no connector, or the Wing has not connector ??? Please clarify.marvin97382 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:19 pm The three wire plug in left pocket for blue tooth, the aux plug is red, white and black and my 2007 gl1800 has 3 wires and no plug, a white w/ black dots, a black w/ white dots and black, as I said the bike has no plug so, to hard wire, which ones do I hook together? Re: Help
correct, and thank you yes. the plug that the aux wire plugs into (three wire plug and 1- 3.5mm on the other end) The plug part on the bike that is shown being held is missing and I just have the wires, a white w/ black dots, a black w/ white dots and a black, the plug I believe (female) is missing so I will have to hard wire to the aux cable. Now, on the pic you sent if you plug in the aux cable (which the three wires are normally red, white and black)I need to know these 3 go to which 3 so I can hard wire them correctly

Re: Help
From my arm chair, your wire colors don't sound correct. Hopefully this will help.

Re: Help
Thanks again it worked well to a point, when I turn on the key it says "connected" plays for about 5 sec and stops. Any ideas?

Re: Help
Test your power and ground by either using a test light of a digital volt meter. With the key on, you should have battery voltage, and ground at all times.
FYI ... I beleive most digital things, like MP3 players, cell phones, and GPSs, that we might plug into a 12v source, step down their voltage to something like 5v. Often it is done with a resistor on the positive side.

Re: Help
Under the left pocket is a harness with a black cover. Inside that cover is a Red Connector for use to power source anything you may need. You can buy an accessory cigarette lighter type plug and plug it into this connector. I believe they even make thumb drive units that can plug into this connector. Next you should find a White Connector that a cable with a stereo 3.5mm male end attaches to. That cable with 3.5 mm male plugs into an MP3 player or phone or any item that you may want to use to play music through on the AUX buttons on the radio. I am currently using the Red connector to power my Freewire that bluetooths my bike audio to my headset. I use the stereo 3.5mm male plug and a long extension chord with male and female 3.5mm connections running to my trunk to play my MP3 player. You can purchase the Power items from Wing Stuff and the 3.5 extension chords from Walmart or most anywhere. I almost forgot buy on my 2005 there is also a Red power connector under the right side cubby that was used for heated grips. I use that one for a OEM volt meter and off the back of the volt meter I also run power to my Dash Mounted Garmin GPS. Everything is keyed to the ignition switch.
It ain't the destination but the getting there. You are not lost until you run out of gas.
