No Crank No Start

Post by williamson_l »

I have a 2010 Navi Comfort and when I go to start I don't get any clicking noise either from the relays or the starter. The headlight dims and draws on the battery and drains it pretty fast. I am thinking if it was a starter I would get the relay noise. Looking at the drawings, the reverse regulator with the diode is upstream to the start relays. Could this cause a high resistance to ground if bad? It seems to be easier to try and replace that first before pulling the gas tank to get to the starter and all that. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

How about checking with a meter or even a test light, to see what is going on, before throwing parts at it?

I do not see any mention of a voltage test in your query.
What is the battery voltage at rest with the key off?
What is the battery voltage when the key is on?
What is the battery voltage as you are attempting to start the bike?

Clean connections first?
Was it doing something else before it went belly up? Most machines will give warning shots before kicking the bucket.
