Audio System Problem

Post by nailer » Tue Jul 26, 2011 9:13 am

I am a newbie here, but I have searched for this question and not found it. If I missed it, please direct me to it and forgive my blindness.

I just bought a 2003 GL1800. The radio and cb both worked perfectly. I turned them both off (pushing the button until it beeps). Now neither radio will turn on. The fuses are good, the display works, but the radios do not turn on. HELP!

Thanks.

Sorry but what do you mean by wont turn on ? I am not as familiar with the non-nav units. Do you have a display ? Did you push the button putting
the radio and cb in headset mod ? Did you push the audio button turning off the whole unit ?

The unit has one button for audio (AM, FM, Weather) and another for the CB. When the radio(s) is on, the buttons switch between speaker and earphone. To turn either unit off, you press the respective button and hold until it beeps. To turn the unit back on, you are supposed to just press the button. This is the part that does not work. The display works, all fuses are good, but nothing happens when I push either the audio or the CB button. Does this make it any clearer

Well, the good news is that it was an intermittent connection. While I was riding this morning, I pushed the button and the radio came on! The bad news is that it is an intermittent connection. I still don't know where it is or when it will reoccur. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Check to see if the buttons are stuck, may need some electrical lubricant
