GL1500 Tank Bag

Post by carlleming »

I acquired permission to start making the old Firecreek Tank Bag and Bracket that was discontinued way back when.

First off these will only fit on a GL1500 that has the place for the stereo cover to attach to. This bracket will attach in the same way the radio cover attaches.
I will be bending and adjusting each bracket by hand so they will not be exactly alike. They are made from Stainless Steel and once installed on bike the bracket is hinged and raises up out of the way so that you can get fuel without removing the bag and bracket.

The bag is NOT the exact bag that Firecreek had. The bag is a good sized bag with electrical connections for charging your accessories (ie. phone, GPS and such). You will have to either wire it to your motorcycle or it will attach to a battery tender type plug. I have had to make changes on the bags to fit the bracket, So they too will not all be exactly the same as far as stitching, but the bag will be what is in video. If for some reason I have to change bag style I will make a new video on different bag.

There are 3 videos I made that show the bracket, the bag and the electrical components. If you have any questions feel free to email me or send me a message on Facebook. The cost for one of these is $165 plus $22.50 for priority insured shipping to the lower 48 states. I take payment via Square.com I will send an invoice after you contact me that you want to purchase one.

Figured I would update this post.

The bags I was using to make these have been discontinued. I do still have the brackets of you would like to make your own bag to fit them. First off these will only fit on a GL1500 that has the place for the stereo cover to attach to. This bracket will attach in the same way the radio cover attaches. If the bags come back in supply then I will make some more units with the bags attached.
I will be bending and adjusting each bracket by hand so they will not be exactly alike. They are made from Stainless Steel and once installed on bike the bracket is hinged and raises up out of the way so that you can get fuel without removing the bag and bracket.
If you have any questions feel free to email me or send me a message. The cost for one of these is $50 plus $15 for priority insured shipping to the lower 48 states. I take payment via Square.com I will send an invoice after you contact me that you want to purchase one.

carlleming,
I just saw your tank bag holder article. Nicely done. Have you thought about making one out of metal instead of SS? Can a different tank bag be mounted to your part? I ask because I have a bag I really like it (very big map pocket) and would like to use it instead of the one you offer. You have an excellent product from the video. Your product seems well thought out.
Can't wait to hear back from you.

I still have some brackets for sale. They cost $65 shipped to lower 48 states priority mail. You can modify your own bag to fit these. I have had several people use different bags. You just need to be able to configure a way to attach the bag. There are some pics on our FB page
