Hey Gord,

I just did a search on eBay for "GL1200 right fairing pocket cover" and at least a dozen of them came up! Plenty to pick from at various prices. You shouldn't have a problem finding one you like.

Most are sold without the lock mechanism. You can remove the lock from yours and install it in the replacement cover. Good to go!

thanks for the info Wingman, found a ton of them on e-bay. You seem to be in the know so can you tell me if there is any difference in the covers from one year to another? Also, some of the advertised covers do not specify Aspencade or "A" . Will they all fit my 1987 1200 A?
Thanks for your help, I must have been having a brain fart when I did not even think to check e-bay.

I've had an '84 Interstate and still have an '87 Aspencade, and they both used the same cover. That said, the Honda microfiche lists three different "types" of these covers. I'm not really sure what "type" refers to, but I think it has to do with a color difference, e.g. gray vs black?

For example, here's the parts list for an '87 Aspencade on HondaPartsHouse.com:

https://www.hondapartshouse.com/oempart ... ing-pocket

That shows two different "types" for the cover, with slightly different part numbers. I really think only the color is different. It would not make any sense for Honda to change the shape of the part or it would not fit on the bottom of the fairing pocket itself.

I also looked up the '86, '85, and '84 GL1200s on that site. They all list the cover as "type 3", with just a slightly different part number (ends in ZC, rather than ZB for type 2 and ZA for type 1).

Frankly, I think they are all physically the same and will fit any of the GL1200s. So, just take a close look at the color of the one you're gonna buy on eBay and make sure it matches your bike.

thanks for your help, Wingman. I could always get out the paint if I do get the wrong colour.
