Sidecar tail light
Help! I broke the pictured tail lens on my 83 gl1200 California customs sidecar. Anyone know where to find one. Thank you!

I would begin looking here: http://www.californiasidecar.com/
Or call parts and service at 1-434-263-8877
Or do they just offer trike kits now?

Not knowing the actual size of that lens - but it looks similar to a CB750 lens of many years ago - as in mid 70's style.
From what is left of the existing one - I would see if it has any manufacturer names around its circumference or part number etc.
If you are lucky you might find a replacement easily if it is a common sourced one..

He has a lot of stuff for the CSC models and many others. Really nice guy to deal with.
If you don't see what you need give him a call he does not have everything on his site listed.
He also sells a nice manual for the CSC moddels.
PS
I just checked his web site and he has a lot of those round tail lites.
At the top of the page click on "California sidecar parts" and scroll down a bit.

Yeah, if you try to get sidecar information out of them they do everything they can to disavow that they ever had anything to do with sidecars...Doug B. wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 3:35 pm I would begin looking here: http://www.californiasidecar.com/

Thanks all. Found lens , it’s not as rare as I thought. (Honda CBs) Also thanks for the link to Florida , was able to find out the year and model of my hack in about 5 minutes. And I now have a great source for parts. Just bought the set-up attached to a non running 83 aspy. Got it going and it’s been a blast to ride.If all goes well i will be taking apart and freshening up mechanics and painting whole package. Thanks again

Nice one,
If they are CB lenses - then not as rare to find one - by an extra one - just in case - you should be set then for a while.

Re: Sidecar tail light
yup you got that right. I have a CSC friendship 3 , I blew the shock and when i called to see about a replacement they pretty much blew me off saying they haven't had anything to do with side cars since 2010 and he had no Idea what I was talking about. I asked him then why do they still have the name California Side Cars and why then are they in Virginia ...... he hung up !Alan_Hepburn wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 12:31 pmYeah, if you try to get sidecar information out of them they do everything they can to disavow that they ever had anything to do with sidecars...Doug B. wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 3:35 pm I would begin looking here: http://www.californiasidecar.com/
