1983 Aspencade parts, including rebuilt master cylinder

Post by jeffcosmo »

Boxes and boxes of parts. Both side covers, nearly perfect (small scratch on one), all three **** intact not glued. Linked brake rear master cylinder, rebuilt. Front master, not rebuilt. Controls, speedometer head (Pac-Man speedo - Aspencade, remember), taillight, fender extension, final drive, stock shocks, forks, heads, complete, set of carburettors, AND more (I haven't even looked in my storage unit); all from a 40,000 mile bike that the owner decided to store with the spark plugs out (NOT bright).
All this for $175. (No radio parts).
I WILL NOT SHIP, DO NOT EVEN ASK.
Sorry, but shipping all this would be a logistical nightmare for me, and I was already married to her long enough.
I WON'T SEPARATE, would either sell it all, or toss it all, it matters little to me.
Trades will be entertained, I don't know what you have, worst I can say is "thank you, no".
I would like all this gone by the end of April, 2019.

Thank you for looking.
Cosmo

I have now decided just to throw them out.

Yup, want the garage back, and no one wants these parts, and ASDA (garbage collection) has said they need the ballast for the snow.
I tried Ebay, CL, and - crickets. Ya got 'til Feb. 2, 2021, ASDA comes early Feb. 3rd.

If you have a scrap metal recycling facility close by? They pay per pound for the bulk aluminum.

Hi Cosmo,

I just texted you. I'll take the parts. I have a friend in West Allis, WI that can pick them up. I left a message for him 10 minutes ago and am waiting to hear back from him. Please don't toss the parts in the trash just yet? I can certainly use some of those parts on my '81 restoration. TYVM

Dubdenny, I also have a GL1100 (1981) that I'm always wanting spare parts for. If you're interested in re-selling after you receive the parts, please contact me at sdavis4fun at [hotmail] dot com. Parts would be front master cylinder, both front fork tubes and maybe more.

sdavis4fun,

Unfortunately, Jeff Cosmo told me in a text message earlier today that he has liquidated the vast majority of the items on this string. I'm in the process of changing my username to "daylatedollarshort" :D

Day Late Dollar Short is right. Wow, such short notice. Didn't find out until I read the Feb Newsletter. I certainly understand wanting the space back , but, a lil bit of patience could have helped such a number of people that have projects going. I have 3 Gold Wings too and when I am done I will likely have a pile as well. I have a shop with lots of room so I will not be in such a rush to trash usable parts. Good Luck everyone, hope maybe you got what you needed,

Hey guys: Jeff has been kind enough to help me make arrangements to have these parts sent my way, after trying to find a new home for them for almost 2 years. Whatever I don’t need for my bikes, I would be happy to pay-it-forward and help ship along anything I don’t have place for.

Hi, new here but I'm needing the left and right foot peg assemblies for an '83 gl1100. Mounting bracket, peg etc. I live in the Chicagoland area as far as shipping goes, anybody have that available?

Yea, ditto that need. The markland floorboards I do not like and simply cannot get used to them, besides, they are rusted buckets of steaming camel dung anyway. I am used to pegs too. One of the most impossible to find parts ever.............Guess I will take my only set to a metal fab shop and have a dozen sets mocked up for the standoff, most available pegs can fit them. Got 2 other bikes to fit em to and A THOUGHT. The ol Honda Factory Machine liked using across the line parts that are common......like FOOT PEGS. Try looking for CB750C/F , CB900 or CB1000 or even 1100 foot pegs. You may hit a gold mine. I'm searching right now.........

as long as it is the one that works for the cb radio, it will work for me. do you happen to have a working amplifier that will work for the 83 audio system?

Electronics are man made and do not last 40 years without failure. If you can repair basic electronics, they can easily be fixed, but, the challenge is challenging. Not insurmountable, just tricky. And you would have to have an o-scope and other electronics troubleshooting tools. (Think NOT CHEAP). Buying something else and IF possible buy SEALED Board electronics which are again NOT CHEAP. And a lot less repair friendly. just my 2 ¢ worth.

I do have the antennae but the cable was cut. If you have your own cable it'll work out just fine.
PM ME YOUR DETAILS for shipping and we can work out the details.
