No it is not wired for heat. I do have the by-pass connector so your grips will still work if you have comfort package.

The 2012-2017 seat will go on a 2001-2010 only by the "beat to fit" method. A 2001-2010 seat will go on a 2012-2017 but leave a gap between it and the side covers requiring "paint to suit." Better off to get a proper fitting seat for BOTH the bike AND the butt.
