1981 GL1100 parts bike fpr sale

Post by fullbody12 »

I have a 1981 GL1100 Interstate that was given to me in Feb of 2018. I removed the heads to check the cylinders and everything looked great. I put on new valve seals, new head gaskets and replaced the heads. I then rebuilt the carbs, front forks, rear shocks, and both master cylinders and all three calipers. After installing 2 new Dunlop tires in Oct 2019, I was road ready. I rode to my friends house that gave me the bike and we were off. 54 miles later it dropped a valve in the #3 cylinder. I don't have the energy to try to find parts and rebuild this bike again, so I'm hoping someone out there has the parts and the desire to get it running again. I have a clear title. The bike looks pretty good for sitting under a shed in northeast Texas for 26 years. Asking $500.00. Pick up in Waskom, TX or buyer arranges shipping.

I'm going to try to sell it in one piece. If I decide to part it out, I will contact you.

If you really mean the side with the starter button, that's the right side. Those are available brand new reproduction from Parts N More (and other suppliers too). Part #12-0303 on the Parts N More website. I bought one a couple of years ago from them and it's perfect. I wish they would start producing the left side assemblies too.

I have an extra from my 81 parts bike. Don't know what it's worth, but I do know it is in good condition.
