after 3 separate GW speedometers on my 82 Aspencade, I put a Speedometer from a old CB500.. no more problems.
I did take the original speedometer apart to see what happened to it. well let's just say these are NOT made to be repaired.
i managed to get it apart and found that the bearing by the magnet was wore out. I never was able to get it back together.
last time I checked a NEW one cost over $600.00.
after the 3rd used GW speedometer I got the CB500 one. I lost the auto off turn signal, but I now have a working speedometer.

I think I have 2 old ones. One for sure skips and whines, the other not sure if it still works. gimme $25 and pay the shipping and they're yours. I'm in british columbia (the great white north)
