Wanted: Scrap side cover (under saddle) 1200cc

Post by CrazyCatman »

Want to try to glue a new pin on my side cover as one of them broke off and I didn't notice it after the crash. So I am looking for a really ugly side cover for a 1200 model.

Colour irrelevant as I literally only need the rear peg.

Of course a mahogany (?) 84 side cover in fair condition could also be of interest of the price is right.

You can make a new one out of a chunk of ABS using a small grinder or even just a knife or some files.

Hmmm, that could be an option too, yes. Good idea, thanks :)

Also Honda has been using that same peg design as long as I can remember, at least back into the 70s. So if you have a bike salvage yard, you could harvest some pegs from just about any Honda. Of course they have also been breaking off since the 70s so that might be easier said than done. Just a thought.

In the something new everyday file.
I need some of those pegs, too and was going to follow my own advise and order some ABS rod to make them out of.
I was looking to see if the dimensions of those pegs were somewhere online, and I came across these.
