1983 GL1100 For Sale
I bought this bike a few years ago. Taken it completely apart. engine included. Just about everything internal is new. Look at my old threads and you will see most of what I did. New Rings, new valve seals, Starter, starter clutch, stator, head gaskets, water pump, thermostat. Rebuild all 3 calipers as well as the rear master cylinder. Just replaced the clutch and throttle cables last month. Starts with the first push of the button with no extended crank. Carbs rebuilt by Pistol Pete 2 years ago. The only issue that I have is that it does brake up a little bit over half throttle. I had it out yesterday and got up to 75 MPH without an issue. it clears up with a little carb cleaner sitting still. So I am sure that a carb cleaning will solve it. But I am now working 6 days a week and have no time to do it. Let alone enjoy a ride. Let my loss be your gain.
That being said, I know that I will never get out of it what I have in. But I am asking $2800 or best offer. Must pick up here in NJ. Still registered and insured. Come on down for test ride. I have a bin of stuff that I have taken off the bike. Even some new stuff that hasn't made its way to the bike that the buyer can have. Email me at wmpotter399@gmail.com with questions.

A couple photos show what appears to be a pool of oil under the engine....or is that A/C condensate?

Looks pretty rough for that price. Good luck.

My first touring bike was a 1985 interstate and it’s been a passion ever since. Parts, paint, and support from a great forum like this can help anyone restore a Goldwing. And we all put more into our bikes than what can be seen as a reasonable investment. When I purchased my ‘85 20 years ago I paid $2k. It came with every option, all the accessories, she ran and look amazing. Sold it 10 years later for $800 with everything plus some and still looked amazing. I was interested in keeping the bike from sitting and sharing the passion then holding firm to my asking price. Finding that right buyer will take time but most of all a good sale is when both parties walk away happy. Throw a for sale sign on the windshield and ride it in the meantime. I always had great success when reselling my bikes doing this rather than sitting it if front of my house or posting an advertisement. Best of luck.
If you never did you should. These things are fun. And fun is good. ~Dr.Seuss

I am still riding it to work and back. That is all I have time for at this point. Its a waste to just let it sit.

The only thing rough, is the stuff you cannot get and I could not find a way to fix. Like the plastic on the speedo. As for the price.... I put best offer. Somebody would be crazy not to try and recoup some of the money into the bike.

You'd be surprised what a little plastic polish can do. Check out the kits to restore plastic headlights.wmpotter399 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 8:05 amThe only thing rough, is the stuff you cannot get and I could not find a way to fix. I'm in the same boat, I bought a wing that had been outside a lot, and even after putting in twice what I paid for it, it will never look as good as some I have seen that spent their lives in a garage. Live and learn, next time I know to pay more up front, cause either the replacement parts are not available or crazy expensive. It's all ok as it rides fantastic and I'll just ride my investment out of it.
