For Sale, 1978 GL1000, Clear title

Post by dmoxley49 »

Asking $3,500

First, to answer the question that may come up . . . the wet spot shown below the bike in several of the pictures, is water. The bike had just been washed.

The bike has been garaged kept during my ownership. It is currently registered and roadworthy.

The VIN is . . . GL14002666

Maintenance Highlights:

Fresh oil change
Coolant flush and replaced with silicant free blue
New tires (less than two tears old and low mileage)
Carb rack rebuilt using Randakk's rebuild kit (carbs are correct for this year bike)
New neutral switch
Control cables replaced (clutch and throttle)
Front master cylinder replaced (new)
Rear master cylinder rebuilt
Brake pads replaced
Calipers rebuilt
Rear brake disc machined
Timing belts replaced
Timing belt rollers rebuilt
Wheel bearings replaced
Stem bearings replaced
Dash gauges/indicators rebuilt
Brake lines replaced
Water pump replaced
Fuel pump replaced
Ignition system upgraded to solid state
Coils replaced
Spark plugs replaced along with spark plug leads
Valve cover gaskets replaced
New fuel filter
Fork seals replaced along with the oil
New shocks

And the list goes on. I have documentation on items purchased/replaced/modified in addition to other documents showing the history of the bike since I bought it.

The bike is not stock as can be seen from the pictures and the list of maintenance items provided above. It is, however, stock from a core mechanical perspective . . . engine, carbs, trans, rear end, etc. The odometer/speedometer has not been changed since I have owned the bike. The mileage shown is true to the best of my knowledge.

Otherwise . . . feel free to send your questions to me!

If you want to see the bike, it will be taken to a public storage area that we have a unit in where it can be inspected. It is a secure area with video surveillance. If a test ride is asked for and your state of residence requires an endorsement, so do I. Bring your own helmet (Nevada requirement). I will provide all of the documents that I have for review at that time. Please, no agents . . . it just complicates the transaction on many levels.

A bill of sale will be provided if the purchase is made. In Nevada it is required if you are a resident and will register here in Nevada. Otherwise, I will supply a bill of sale and if your state requires it, have it notorized.

The bike is currently stored in an enclosed cargo trailer and the battery is connected to a tender in case there is a concern about that. If the distance is not too great, I will consider transporting the bike to your location after the sale, however, there may be a fuel cost.

Payment Options:

Cash of course
If a check is used, it must clear all financial institutions before the transfer of the title can be made.
