Wanted Gl1100 fuel pump

Post by Scooter66 »

I need an either new or well functioning fuel pump for my 83 Gl1100. I'm in Canada and New ones even after market are upwards around 200.00. Looking for a much better price
Thanks

oem is still available ...$129USD ... add exchange duty and shipping and you are up around $200 BUT ... it's brand new and it's oem and should last another 40 years. i wouldn't touch a 40 year old used pump unless it was one that i already had in my parts stash, i.e. free. aftermarket is a gong show these days.

other than that, i believe some people are successfully using electric fuel pumps on these bikes.

I ll check to see how easy it is to hook up an electric one. I'm curious how it's mounted. My current pump is spitting fuel out the weep hole and from what I can see, you can't rebuild them.
Thanks for the info.

Think you could get new diaphragms and other rebuild stuff for the fuel pumps, but by now likely made of unobtanium. Worth a search though
