Seems I remember reading here that you can easily adapt 1500 PG's to fit, someone else will probably chime in here, too...

I don’t think it’s possible to use gl1500 pg on gl1200

you did read that, so did i. and when i tried and corner the guy about how he wired them, he experted his azz right on outa here.

You can use 1500 crank sensor on a 1200. It is larger than the 1200 sensor and requires you to mount on the upside of the crank and remove some of the mounting boss material. Might be able to install in the lower mounting position, don't know. Had one installed on my '85 Limited Edition when I bought it in 2015. Replaced it with a PG harness from an '86 Aspencade. The 1986 1200 requires two PGs, one top and bottom. Good luck.
