Another option is to just have yours TIG welded and re-polished.

Thanks, yeah I have been watching eBay multiple times daily, the new old stock one is tempting but a little pricey. If the emblem wasn't all scratched up I would be more inclined to pony up the cash.

The others are a bit crustier than I'm hoping to find.

I'm sure I will have to settle for good enough at some point, I'm just not there yet.
