I have a 2005 1800..
Has anybody tried using shims for adjusting the handle bars to make them higher.
I'm 6'3" and find the bars are just a bit low.
Thanks in advance,
Gordon

Re: Height of handle bars
There are quite a few manufacturers that made exactly this - risers and shims for GL1800. I have a tall friend of mine who added these to his GL1800 quite successfully, and is very happy with them.fixdent wrote:I have a 2005 1800..

Re: Height of handle bars
A mate of mine did this, he likes them but had to trim a little from the end of the cable housing that sticks out at the bottom of the handlebars as it was catching slightly. I am not that tall but I still feel it is a bit like pushing a wheelbarrow sometimes after 20 years on 1500's. I think the price is a rip off, a mate has said I am free to use his machine shop that has a lot of flatbed machinery including shapers and grinders etc to make my own.
If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.
