Honda Wiring Plan
Honda's Master Wiring Guide to all Wings. I have posted this before, but have cleaned it up some. Here is the final copy (I hope). This is not a cast in concrete, but is a good starting point if you are chasing wires. It has helped me and a few of my friends. Hope it will help some of you. It is NOT year specific, so will work for all Wings and maybe other Honda bikes.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
GOOD WORK! You can never have too many people posting on wiring solutions and taking the time to document any wiring info that can lead us to a solution. Now how do I save this to my "ALL the wiring S**T that can go wrong with a Wing" notebook.....

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
It is picture, that is the only way I could get it to post. So, save a picture and then either print it out or just keep it that way. Saving as a .jpeg (picture) won't change how it prints out on normal sized paper.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
Thanks CMReynolds1, electrical wiring is always a problem for me. I am upgrading my horns, headlight modulator and brake light modulator and I had not clue where the start. Hopefully with your info I will not burn my bike to the ground.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
I have tried to find a 1500 actual wiring schematic, but none on the net for free. Still too new of a bike. However, I am sending you the 1200 wiring diagram and it may be close on many things. Just keep it mind it is a guess on my part.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
thanks CMReynolds1 , I will print and check it out this evening when I am installing the new HID headlights that arrived yesterday. I have had the Diamond star head light modulator for years and was never brave enough to attempt tackling the wiring once I saw how many different areas it has to be attached to within the wiring harness.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
If you don't already have a manual, I would suggest getting one. Quite invaluable. Usually run about $40-$50. If you can get the Honda Factory, get it. It is better than the Clymer. If not, Clymer is okay too.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
I purchased a Honda shop manual when I bought my wing new in 1999. I use it a lot for the mechanical work, since I do almost all of the repairs myself. I just have issues with the electrical. I do not totally understand all of the ins and outs of wiring.

If I was closer, I would be happy to come over and help. Oregon & Illinois are a few miles apart!!

I agree about 2100 miles, a hard 3 day ride at best if you are pushing it.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
The reason you won't find a "1500 wiring schematic" is that the wiring on the bike is far too huge and complex to be contained in a single diagram. Such a diagram would be completely unreadable. Instead, the diagrams are broken down into blocks containing individual systems, and there are many of these - and they are interconnected. There is an entire 170-page Honda service manual (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) dedicated to just the electrical system of the GL1500.CMReynolds1 wrote:I have tried to find a 1500 actual wiring schematic, but none on the net for free. WOW! Thanks. I don't think my factory 1800 manual is that bad.

Re: Honda Wiring Plan
Correct that. There is a second manual in my library. It is the ETA Manual. Looks like about the same # of pages! I am not batting so well today, lol.
