Radio issues with USB

I am starting to have issues with my USB port on my radio. I used to be able to run my iPod touch or iPhone 5s. Then all of a sudden, it won't connect with either. Shows the USB icon on the dash but does not register whatever is connected to the cable and doesn't charge the device. The radio sends a few random, super loud pops through the speakers after power up if there is a device connected to the cable. Tried different cables and devices that all net the same results. I am thinking that it is going to be time to take it in and have the radio replaced. I still have a warranty... I think. On that note, I bought the 2012 in Aug of 2014 and thought we had a considerably longer warranty period than 2 and a half years but I got a Honda extended warranty letter that says my warranty expires in under 30 days. Need to look that up and/or call the dealer tomorrow.

Have you tried plugging in a thumb drive loaded with MP3's?
It should recognize that.

I hope you called the dealer today. If not, you will no doubt have to wait until Tuesday.

Nope... didn't make it to the dealer today. Nothing turned out as planned. Will definitely be getting in there Tuesday though.

I have never plugged a thumb drive in there. Didn't know it would read like that. Hmmmmm.Something to try for sure. Thanks for that suggestion.

Chek the cable. I have had problems with some aftermarket cables that wil charge but not see data and vice versa.
