Sold my goldwing...and a starter question
Hey guys I haven't posted in a while. but i recently sold my 1980 gl1100 so I guess I'm not welcome here anymore lol. You have a new member though I sold it to Placid_Storm he just signed up. I didn't see a place for non goldwing questions but I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to replace the starter on my 82 nighthawk cb750. I have seen several on ebay for the cb650 and was wondering if they are the same part. From the pictures they look identical.

Go to an online OEM parts supplier and compare the part #s. If the first 5 digits are the same it probably will fit.

Looks like a rebuild on your starter maybe at a local starter shop, or parts from Honda can be had. Now CMS has a new starter if you want to go that route. They seem kinda rare for some reason. orginal part no 31209425018, changed to 31200426018....now 650 is 31200426405 so as Dave0430 says looks like a match or probably.

actually guys good news. I found a lightly used one for 45 bucks that is for my bike .looks much better than the greasy busted ones for $75 I've been seeing! thanks for the help and i will definitely be checking part numbers on my other stuff . i just didn't know what i was looking for because this bike was missing the starter when i got it.

Ok good deal, stop by when you can, oh there are a few nighthawk webs out there that might have specs and stuff. We still get to play with your wing.

I had an 82 Nighthawk. It was a very good bike and I had a lot of fun with it down in the Smokies. But I bet you'll miss the fairing, radio, etc. I would.
