Trimming a windscreen

I have had this bike for 2 years now and it has a Tulsa tall windscreen that I have to look thru rather than over. It's not an issue most of the time but this past week I was up in southwestern Colorado riding home from Colorado Springs with a buddy and between the late afternoon sun and the dead bugs it was really hard to see at times. Hwy 50 following the Arkansas and Gunnison river is great riding but it would be better seeing over rather than thru the windscreen. I know a lot of you guys trim your own screens so what is the best tool to use and how did you determine where to cut?

Well, I mark a height that looks good to me and mark it with a permanent marker. Trial and error the height and radius on the corners. Tape it off and protect from scratches. I take mine off and cut with a band saw. Sand and debur. Test ride and try again if needed. Start taller than you would think. You can always take more off.

Thanks. I figured it out. Measured the top of my nose across and marked it. Then I made a template of the windshield with poster paper and cut off the bottom as needed. Took 7 inches off the thing, it was one of those ultra tall Tulsa windscreens. I invested in a Dremel and cut it, nice little tool cuts fast. Cleaned up the edges and glued my trim molding back on and trimmed it. Looks good and now I can look over it, nice...
