GL1800 Navi update

Hi Guys, I have Garmin North America Navigation on my 2007 GL1800. I am not in Gulf. How can I update my CF card to Gulf or Middle East navigation.

At this point, you probably can't. That said, if you can find someone with the maps you want, the map image can be put on your CF card and that would give you what you want, but you would have to find someone with a CF carded Navi unit who had what you want. Garmin is not building updates or any maps for that matter for the CF carded Navi units. They have changed format from a "NON NT" mapping format to a newer "NT" mapping format and the new NT format is not compatible with the older CF carded Navi units.

Thanks Viking, this is indeed a bad news. Well I guess I will have to go to Dubai & find some1 with 07 GL with navi & CF card and just copy the data to mine. Cheers.

Okay, further to all above, In October of 2011, Garmin offered updated software for the CF carded NAVI units. This, after shipping, turned out to be faulty, so they refunded everyones money, and started working on a corrected version. Today, 21 Feb 2012, I received a "free" updated update. Garmin may have a conscience after all. Perhaps you can now get an updated card for the areas you want, sksenjoy, if you contact Garmin at the numbers shown on their NAVI update page.
