Remove reverse lever
How do you remove the reverse lever on 94 GL 1500? Do you loosen the center hex bolt? Awful tight! Than k s tcryder

Yes, that's how you remove it. I would suggest a hex socket rather than a hex key to remove, I've had a much easier time that way.

When you get the bolt out the lever may be tight to get piece 3 from piece 2 in the diagram. Be careful to keep piece 2 seated against the frame. If it does come off, it can be put back on with a couple of large screwdrivers, but it can be tough sometimes.

I'm having trouble getting the spring (#4) back into the proper position to do what it is supposed to do. I believe the spring is supposed to keep the reverse handle oriented toward the body of the bike under spring pressure. I can't get close enough on the diagrams to be able to see which way it is oriented and where to place the spring ends so that it works properly. Can anybody out there see which way is correct, and post a description?
